Mugabe’s Secret Famine

Verified reports that the Zimbabwian dictator Robert Mugabe, who had banned foreign journalists from Zimbabwe, was deliberately starving those districts which voted against his regime.

This film hit a nerve and had an enormous impact, not least in questioning British foreign policy. It led directly to the Nasser Hussain’s English cricket team cancelling their matches in Zimbabwe during the World Cup of 2003.

"Mugabe’s Secret Famine" also raised the question, immediately before the Bush/Blair sponsored Iraqi war, of whether the democracies of the world should intervene in the face of tyranny.
